Hey! Thanks for stopping by and joining us on the hunt. I hope you’re having fun.

Let me introduce myself. I’m Rachel Hauck, a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author. But who’s really tracking, right?

I love a great story with a touch of romance, drama, humor and a hint of elegance. I started out my publishing journey with romance and chick lit back in ’04.

I penned a 3 book women’s fiction series with country singer Sara Evans. After which I wrote The Wedding Dress, the first of several split time novels—stories with an historical and contemporary timeline—followed by a royal romance series.

Such great fun! I was honing my author chops!

Romance and devotion, humor and drama play a roll in all the stories. Whether they have any elegance is for you to decide. You can learn more about me and all my books right here as well as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. But keep reading to check out my latest book and hear some tricks I use to create realistic royal characters.

Sitting at breakfast with my family, talking about life which led to talking about kids and my sister-in-law shared a memory about her son.

His father had asked him to mow the lawn. Being ten, he grumbled and complained as kids often do.

“Why do I have to mow the lawn.”

His mother, my wise S-I-L said, “Because your father asked and you’re an obedient son.”

We all agreed it was a great answer. Yet the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was a brilliant answer.

One, she affirmed Dad. He made a reasonable request and the son should honor it. Two, she affirmed her son. “You are an obedient son.”

She challenged his attitude with his destiny: to be obedient. Then she declared his position in the house: a son.

Even for a ten year old, there’s not a lot to argue with here. Argue he’s not obedient? Argue he’s not a son? Being affirmed as a son made a pathway to his obedience.

God declared Jesus as His son. Which made a way for His obedience to go to the cross.

God calls us sons and daughters. In doing so, we are invited into His family, to be obedient to His Word and His commands. We also have 100% access to His love and forgiveness. Twenty-four seven!

In my new royal book, To Save a King (True Blue Royals, Book Two) there’s a moment where the queen asks her son, the crown prince, to go on a very personal errand for her.

She asks because he’s her son. How can he resist? In doing so, he brings healing to himself, to his secret sister, and to a broken woman who is haunted by her past.

One man’s obedience led to healing, forgiveness and repentance. It’s the Gospel in a nutshell. Well, a nutshell wrapped in a 100K word royal romance novel.

Aren’t stories amazing? God is amazing. I didn’t even realize any of this until I wrote the blog! I’m kind of excited.

I hope you’ve had a chance to read To Love A Prince (True Blue Royals, Book Two.) If not, click the link to check it out.

Look for To Save King coming May 5th.

Rachel HauckA modern-day fairy tale of hope and rescue from NYT bestselling author Rachel Hauck

After growing up in small-town Hearts Bend, Tennessee, Gemma Stone set off to Hollywood to make her mark in the world.

But her ambition turned into a journey of a “thousand” bad decisions and after twelve years of seeking fame and fortune, Gemma returns home with a limp and a dark secret.

Now she runs a rescue ranch and is raising her friends’ orphaned daughter. She’s keenly aware these defenseless ones are also rescuing her.  She just wants to stay hidden in the safe world she’s created.

HRH Crown Prince John has learned a royal title cannot shield him from heartbreak. As heir to the revered House of Blue and married to the love of his life, he believed his future reign would strengthen the royal dynasty of Lauchtenland. Then tragedy changed everything. Can anything save him from his grief?

When he travels to Hearts Bend on a mission for his mother, Queen Catherine, he’s drawn into the local life and cajoled into a three-legged race with the beautiful Gemma Stone during the 4th of July festivities.

While the event has a disastrous result, Prince John and Gemma form a quick friendship—one of two wounded souls finding comfort in one other. However, love is absolutely not an option. John desperately wants to hold onto the memories of his wife, and Gemma refuses to trust her heart to any man. Even a prince.

Then Prince John is called home for an emergency. How can he leave the woman who lifted him from his sorrows? But can Gemma join him on a royal stage and risk her secret coming to light?

With a touch of divine help, Prince John and Gemma just might find the kind of love that saves and ultimately write their very own fairy tale.

To Save a King is book two in the True Blue Royal series.

“Another compelling royal story by the master of princely tales!” – Susan May Warren, USA Today bestselling, RITA award-winning novelist
