How Can You Tell It’s Fall in Florida? Football!

Maybe one of the reasons I love college football so much is it’s the one indication I have in central, coastal Florida that fall has arrived!

The temperatures in September are the same as in July. The temperatures in October mirror June’s. So how can a girl tell it’s fall in Florida.

Thinner air. Yep. And football.

Saturday’s change for me in the fall.

It becomes about finding the Ohio State game online — because we don’t have TV channels at my house — and filling in the hours before or after the OSU game with some other big game of the week.

It’s Sunday morning talk of who won, and who will go up or down in the rankings.

I love the game. I love that it’s something I have in common with my husband. Not to mention the Belles here on the porch! Football and fall are synonymous for me.

Yeehaw.

Fall is the scent of cinnamon in Publix. The color of pumpkins and all the yummy “fall food.” I love to bake in the fall. Sadly, I love to eat what I bake.

It’s apples and peaches, oranges and pears. Love fall fruit and vegetables.

Fall is Harvest Festivals, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I love fall.
