Remembering friend and writer Diann Hunt

Rachel Hauck, Diann Hunt In the Christian writing community, we lost a friend and great author to cancer.

Diann Hunt met Jesus face-to-face November 29th.

Diann was the author of over 15 books, a loving wife and mom, and grandma.

Friend.

I can’t remember meeting Di. She seemed to just come into my life about ten years ago.

I think we met in an online ACFW critique group.

And she has blessed my life.

I can still see her smile and hear her laugh.

She had a great laugh. I can’t remember seeing her without a smile on her face.

Diann was like living, breathing, walking JOY!

Even in her battle against cancer, she exuded hope and joy.

She exemplified the love of Jesus to the end of her life.

Diann had a funny, quirky, storyteller voice. She loved humor and wove it into all of her books.

And Hallmark recognized her genius and picked up film rights to her book, For Better For Worse! Coming July 2014.

Diann’s love for her husband, children and grandchildren was evident. Her daughter was one of her best friends.

She will be missed. I think of her often. But heaven just got a little bit funnier. And sweeter.

As we go into the holiday season, keep her family in prayer and consider downloading one of her books.

You won’t regret it.

  1. We’ll all miss her so much. But Diann left a legacy of making people want to follow her example of faith and how she lived life to its fullest. I’ll miss her more than I ever realized, but can’t wait to see her again!!

  2. Rachel – you got that exactly right about Diann – the pure JOY of Christ just beamed through her face. I can’t remember our first meeting either, but she was just always there in Indiana ACFW – encouraging, laughing, smiling, complimenting, putting everyone else first – will miss her!
