Where are you now?

It’s Memorial Day weekend and I’m in a memorial mood. I’ve lived in various places over my short life – Ohio, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Florida. I wonder where some of my old friends are now.

Tina Rogers, best friend in 3rd grade, Winchester, KY. Her father owned the country grocery store, Fox’s Market, or something like that. They lived above the store, and I still remember snatching balony for sandwiches from the deli case.

Jana Smith – best friend in 4th, 5th, 6th, part of 7th grade. Lexington, KY. Clays Mill Elementary, Jesse Clark Jr. High. I know you’re out there Mrs. Thor. 🙂 We used to exchange Chrsitmas cards, but in recent years, I haven’t heard from you. Sometimes life gets in the way.

Other Lexington friends: Glenda McKinny, and Lisa Jackson. What’s up?

Joy Francis – South Dade High School, Homestead, FL. Reading about you in my diary makes me smile, and laugh. I miss you.

Lorene Raistrick Sikking – I still think of you. You were a fabulous friend and if I hadn’t moved away from south Florida, we’d still be friends, I think. I read a lot about you in my old diaries too, and I miss you.

Peter Ramirez – Hope you are doing well. You, too, are on the pages of my diary. I’ll always remember how special you made me feel, and beautiful, at a time in my life when I needed to hear those words. Looking back at us at 18 and 16, we seemed so mature. Doesn’t it make you laugh now? Do you still hang out with Kevin Ratigan? Summer of ’76 is forever embossed on my mind.

Walter Barrett – I always wish happiness for you. Remember, that you tapped into the reality of Jesus’s love and you gave your life to Him.

Printiss MacIntosh – Tiss, Tis, Tosh. Dude, where are you? You taught me racquetball. You made me laugh. You taught me that the girl always has to be better looking than the guy. Remember? We were sitting in The Union watching All My Children and you declared Jenny and Greg could not be together because he was better looking than she. I hope you are well.

Connie Synder Gleason – I always smile when I think of you. Summer of ’85, could we have laughed any harder? The last day, of our last quater, December ’85 and we sat all afternoon in the Flying Tomato. Snow fell in huge flakes and well, we laughed.

Twila Gamble – How’s life? Are you doing well?

Machelle Caldwell – Girl, how are you? Married, I’ve heard. Hope life is treating you well. You were always a bright spot at 93 E. 15th Avenue.

Suzanne – I know where you are, but just wanted to say Hi. Same to you Tish, Mo and SueP.

Kathy Baily Fox – Next time I’m in Tally, we’re hanging. It’s been far too long.
